Homelessness takes its toll on young lives, with around 85% of homeless youth suffering from mental-health problems, and 42% reporting at least one suicide attempt.<\/p>\n<h4>On November 21st, Jim Taylor, President of Activo, will participate in Covenant House\u2019s Sleep Out event in Toronto to raise awareness and funds to help end youth homelessness.<\/h4>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/covenanthousetoronto.akaraisin.com\/pledge\/Participant\/Home.aspx?seid=20187&amp;mid=9&amp;pid=4272344\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Click here to help Jim reach his sponsorship goal of $10,000.<\/a><\/p>\n<h2>Why Sleep Out?<\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/covenanthousetoronto.akaraisin.com\/common\/Event\/AboutUs.aspx?seid=20187&amp;mid=58#k-club\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Sleep Out<\/a> gives participants the opportunity to experience first-hand the hardships faced by homeless youth on the city\u2019s streets by living as they do, exposed to harsh weather with just a sleeping bag to keep them warm.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/h8BCR-bhbdI\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Watch This Video<\/a> to hear from the participants themselves.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What\u2019s In Store For The Night?<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>6:00 P.M &#8211; Participants will arrive for registration and a networking reception at 6:00 P.M.<\/li>\n<li>7:00 P.M \u2013 Participants are served dinner by youth from Covenant House\u2019s \u2018Cooking for Life\u2019 program.<\/li>\n<li>7:30 P.M &#8211; Speeches by Covenant House alumni who will share their stories.<\/li>\n<li>8:20 P.M \u2013 Tours and evening programming to enhance participants\u2019 understandings of youth homelessness.<\/li>\n<li>10:30 P.M \u2013 Participants pick out their sleeping bags and cardboards to head out for a night on the street.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>About Covenant House Toronto<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/covenanthousetoronto.ca\/about-us\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Covenant House<\/a> is Canada\u2019s largest agency serving youth who are homeless, trafficked or at risk. It offers the widest range of 24\/7 services to about 350 young people each day.
